Glittery and Sparkling

Good morning, I am back today with this super new image from "The Paper Shelter" she is such a fun image to colour, I have made this card for my hospital pile and hopefully soon I will have a full box to be donated.....

I was gifted some scalloped edge cards a few years ago and when I did my big sort out after xmas I found them, so I put one to good use, I have printed her quite large and coloured her with a mix of markers and pencils, I have used up some scraps of paper  to add the stars and fishtails and a bit of scrap card to layer her on to, and a simple sentiment, I have added some sparkle to the stars on and around her and added some little heart gems to the stars, thank you for looking today big hugs Pops x

The Paper Shelter Chllenge

Good morning I hope that you are all well, today is a new challenge over at "The Paper Shelter Blog" and as always there is a generous voucher to spend in "Store" for one lucky winner....

The challenge is New Beginnings, my new beginning is a little different, as mine is to be Thankful, last year while I was having a tough time a facebook friend sent me Fox things most months just as a act of kindness, when you feel down and you get surprise post it really lifts your day, I got cross stitches, nail files, pictures, a coaster for my cup and lots of other Fox related things, I am a hugs Fox fan, I appreciate it so much, so my new beginning is to be more Thankful, I have decided that this year I am going to appreciate what I have more, and make the most of it, so other than essentials, like glue and tape I will not be buying any craft things, I mean I have stamps that have never seen ink, so I will be making the most of what I have and been more Thankful, I guess I am really lucky to have lots of crafting stuff and I need to acknowledge this....

I have made a Chocolate cover for my facebook friend as a little Thank You using this gorgeous "Spring Swing" as she is just perfect for my cover, she has been coloured with a mix of markers and some pencils, and I have added, Ribbon, Charm, Flowers and pearls all from my stash....

I do hope that you can join in with us this week and be sure to pop over and see my talented teamies gorgeous creations, thank you for looking today, hugs Pops x

Happy New Year

I hope that you all had a lovely holiday time, I always find this time of a year a bit hard, but we got through it, Happy New Year to you all, I really don't make resolutions as I never stick to them but I have decided to just be more grateful and positive this year and to craft more as that makes me feel chilled out, so to start the new year I am using a new image I got last year from Lili of the Valley digi shop  but never got around to using, those of you who follow over on Instagram will have seen me start to colour her and here she is all done but nice and simple.....

I printed her a bit bigger than I normally would as she is a digi, I coloured her with a mix of markers and added a wink of stella to her wings, stars, bows and hem line, I backed her to a bit of scarp card and added some scrap paper to the top using a die to give it a fancy edge, I added some string and hung a sentiment from it, I also added some small gems what I found in my stash, thank you so much for looking today, hugs Pops x x x

I have a had a few emails asking where I disappeared too, so here goes...

Most of you know we have 3 young adults, 2 was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at a very early age and the eldest was 6 when I ot her diagnosis of also Cerebral Palsy, I mean why would I think it wasnt that as the other 2 had it and we was told we was just very unlucky, anyway the eldest as she didnt get diagnosed until she was 6 I always doubted it, she only had problems with her feet and legs and could never go to toilet, she didn't seem the same as the other two but I am just a mum who am I to second guess a Dr...

To cut a really long story of fighting to get her seen by different people and having each one suspect she could have an eating disorder, which makes her not go to the loo, she started her own journey of seeing Dr's herself when she was 16, she was passed from Dr to Dr and put on suppositories that just didn't work, she would go up to 6 weeks without going and then when she did it was a tiny bit, after her own fight she demanded a second opinion and when to see my specialist, who is brilliant for bowel problems, she had scans and studies and an X-ray and the technician made her do the X-ray again and she spotted that she had Spina Bifida, well she finally had a diagnosis not a nice one but she finally knew what was wrong...

It tuned out the nerves to her bowels didn't work at all and she would need a stoma she was more than happy to do this if it meant she could finally eat without being full after a mouthful and maybe finally put some weight on, she went ahead with it and her life has changed for the better she can eat like a horse she has finally put some weight on and looks amazing, she has not grown a bit since she was 10 so she is still very small, she will need another operation as the stuff they gave her to empty her bowels didn't work and she is still full it does come out every few months but is incredibly painful for her....

While Liddie was in hospital having her stoma my middle daughter had a really bad seizure she has never had one before and she ended up really poorly, she needed a spinal tap to rule out anything else, she was diagnosed with rare epilepsy that doesn't get triggers to set it off, and it has left her with blurred vision and only one ear working poor hubby was rushing from one hospital to another while I cared for Teej...

So while I was going to take a few months off blogging, as you can imagine I was super stressed and worried for both my girls, I ended up staying up most nights to watch over Sammie incase she had another seizure, she has vacant episodes but touch wood sp far she hasn't had another massive one, I have now learnt to relax and feel that I can be creative again, so although I didn't intend to be gone for a long time I was and I feel like I am started my creative journey all over again, thank you to those that have emailed and reached out I am still so touched by it, life hey its always a bit old roller coaster of a ride for us x
